Born from a love of family and making things by hand, Billy Bamboo began at home — a small project by designer Jenny Gao-Costelloe, named after her son Billy.

It started with making clothes for her children, then grew into one-of-a-kind upcycled pieces — each one thoughtful, resourceful, and made with care. Over time, this evolved into a collection of everyday accessories for the whole family, designed to be worn, loved, and lived in.

From our Toronto studio, we now create knitted pieces using only natural, durable yarns chosen for their softness, warmth, and longevity.

 Crafted from our premium angora-rich blend, the Royal Angora Beanie in Crystal Brights has an incredibly soft, airy hand feel and that plush, fluffy surface that gives it a subtle, luminous “halo.”

This season, we increased the angora content and upgraded to viscose (instead of traditional acrylic) for an even softer, smoother, more elevated finish. Designed with a single layer and double turn-up cuff, it keeps you warm without feeling heavy. The lightweight, lofty knit sits comfortably through commutes, coffee runs, and long winter weekends, all while delivering a brilliant pop of colour.
